Himachal registers 2427 green felling cases in a year

The state government registered about 2427 green felling cases during last one year, as per a report filed by Forest Minister Sh. Thakur Singh Bharmouri  to a question in the state assembly

The query raised by Joginder nagar MLA, Thakur Gulab Singh, Mr. Bharmouri said that the highest number of illegal felling  took place in Mandi forest circle with 499 cases registered, followed by 348 in Bilaspur, 317 in Chamba, 277 in Nahan and 274 in Dharamshala forest circle.

Of the total cases, 2005 cases have been compounded, 361 were pending with the forest department, 60 cases have been registered with the police and charge sheet has been filed in the court in one case.
