High peaks and passes of Himachal Pradesh experience fresh snowfall

The receding south west monsoons have showered rainfall on high peaks and passes had snowfall in the state lasting inclement weather in the state.

Fresh reports pouring here have said that Rohtang Pass, which is the gate way to Lahaul Spiti district, and is at a height of 13050 feet and Baralacha Pass pass that links Leh valley of Jammu and Kashimir with Himachal at a height of 16000 feet have recorded three and five inches fresh snowfall. The fresh snowfall plunged mercury by four to five degree Celsius across the state.

“In the next two days rains are forecast and the temperature too are expected to dip further,” says the metrological office at Shimla. Dalhousie has received a maximum of 75mm rains today, though the entire state was reeling under light to heavy rains since morning. The local and tourists were seen wearing clothing including sweaters and jackets in the upper reaches of the state.
