Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Virbhadra Singh today said that comments made in a personal capacity on social networking sites like Facebook should not be raised in the legislative assembly.

Mr. Singh made these remark on the last day of the monsoon session of the assembly as the opposition BJP created a ruckus over the posting of comments by Congress member Neeraj Bharti on his Facebook account.

“I does not have a Facebook account and never maintained an account nor written any comment (on somebody’s post) said the octogenarian Congress leader Mr. Bharti.

The Bharatiya Janata Party created pandemonium in the assembly for the second consecutive day over the reported remarks by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Bharti against BJP national leaders on his Facebook page.

BJP member Mr. Satpal Satti said that Mr. Bharti had made derogatory comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani.

“Normally there are personal comments on Facebook and it is quiet shameful that the comments posted on Facebook are brought in the house by BJP. Even there are so many comments against our national leaders. but we have never made an issue in the house and normally our leaders have been ignoring such comments”  quoted by Mr. Bharti.
