Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, and senior BJP leader blasted a senior Congress party leader Jairam Ramesh for leveling false allegations against him and his son, Anurag Thakur regarding the allotment of government land for the construction of cricket stadium at Dharamshala.
He justified the allotment claiming that it was done for the promotion of sports and moreover in the larger interest of people of the state. While talking to the reporters here, he said that the Dhauldhar stadium has got Himachal Pradesh on the international cricket map and its location has been lauded by all players and senior cricket functionaries who have visited Dharamshala.
Senior district level leaders of the party including three party MLA’s, Narendra Thakur, I.D Dhiman and Vijay Agnihotri were also present in the press conference in which Dhumal said that the allegations of land grab were contrary to the facts and stand untrue.
He also said that those opposing the decision are basically anti -sports and have no love and affection for people of the state, as they never wanted the state to flourish and come on the international map.
Mr. Dhumal alleged that the Congress leaders had gone mentally bankrupt after their loss in the last Lok Sabha elections and that was why they are trying to plant stories against BJP and its leaders only to remain in the media and to catch the eyes of people who had rejected them for their failures during their rule of thirteen years.
Mr. Dhumal has demanded that Chief Minister, Mr. Virbhadra Singh should explain to people about his own past in which he had grabbed the government land and had later on said that it was just by mistake. And even now, his income tax assessment case and its related property issues were still pending in the court for the final trial.
Mr. Dhumal claimed that he has not committed any sin and as such he is not afraid of any complaint lodged by any leaders of the Congress party or other parties. He said that he has full faith in Indian Judiciary and whatever the decision of the court is in this case or other cases that would be binding to all including him.
The BJP leader said that Mr. Virbhadra Singh and other Congress party leaders have lied to people time and again about him and his family and a case against him is still pending in the Shimla Court.
Talking about the phone tapping issue during his regime, he said that in 2009 Virbhadra Singh Singh had leveled this allegation and at that time he (Dhumal) had written to the Prime Minister of that time for holding a high level inquiry from a central government agency. He said that with no power in their hands, the Congress party leaders are now trying to male mole of hills only to defame the BJP leaders but this gimmick would not yield favorable results for the Congress party.
Mr. Dhumal further said that he would legally examine the statements of Congress party leaders and file cases against them in appropriate time.
