Eid-Ul-Fitir celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety in Himachal

Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan, is being celebrated across the state today.

Report arriving here from different parts of state confirms that Eid Ul Fitir was celebrated at Nahan in Sirmaur, Nalagarh in Solan, Bilaspur, Mandi, Chamba and Charmshala in Kangra district. While the main prayer was held at Jama Masjid in the caital town were large number of Muslims assembled for Namaaz. The chairman of Himachal Pradesh Wakf Board Khalilula was among the Namazi (prayers) in Jama Masjid.

Muslims, who abstain from food and water, in the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, observe Ramzan, as a fasting from sunrise to sunset as it culminates in Eid celebrations. Meanwhile Himachal Pradesh Governor Mr. Kalayan Singh, Chief minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh and leaders of opposition have extended their Eid wishes to the people.
