Two sustain injuries due to unprecedented monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh

Two persons have sustained injuries after uprooting of Deodar Tree on Indira Gandhi Medical College road. The capital town got about 46 mm rainfall devastating two vehicles that got buried under a massive Deodar tree on Lakkar Bazar- IGMC road last evening and killing two persons.

A Senior Medical Officer of IGMC told Himvani that one of injured was reported critical however other is recovering from SJVNL trauma in the hospital. Two other vehicles got buried under the boulders and landslides near IGMC and Dhali bypass road after that heavy rainfall.

It has been reported that flash flood has caused massive devastation to the up coming SJVNL Power Project at Sainj near Duttnagar. Some machinery, construction material, pump set, water drain and power cables were also washed down stream in the mishap. The monsoon has already taken toll of four people in last 48 hours and however reports are pouring from different places of caving down of walls and landslides in the town causing massive damage to public property. The unprecedented monsoon rainfall has affected many water supply schemes that remained erratic in many rural areas.
