South West Monsoon in weak trough in parts of Himachal Pradesh

South West Monsoon with onset in the state on June 23 and 24 entered in weak trough today as it was mainly dry and sunny today after light rain showers in just few parts of Himachal Pradesh.

The metrological office has confirmed that South West Monsoon would remain dormant in the state for next two days and is already passing through a weak trough presently.

Kalpa today recorded rainfall of 25mm, Reckong Peo  22 mm, Pooh 16 mm, Barsar in Hamirpur 15 mm, Rampur in Shimla 12 mm, Kheri in Kullu 11 mm, Rohru in Shimla 7 mm, Poanta Sahib in Sirmaur 6 mm, Mehre in Kangra and Kotkhai in Shimla 5 mm each.

Maximum temperature was comparatively high today as Una recorded 36 degrees, Sundernagar 33.6 degrees, Bhunter 32.4 degrees, Dharmshala and Nahan 30.4 degrees, Shimla 24.2 degrees and Kalpa 21.8 degrees respectively.

The metrological office has forecast rain or thundershowers in one or two places in the mid hills and mainly dry in rest of the state.
