No more long queues, India post to set up 18 ATM’s in Himachal Pradesh

“India Post which was entering into banking services now decided to set up 18 ATM’s for providing promote services of withdrawal of funds from deposits which would end the days of long queues outside its counter” as revealed by a senior post official today.

Mr A.K Shori confirmed while addressing media persons at General Post Office that places have been identified to set up ATMs of India post in Himachal Pradesh. He also said that the service would first be launched at Bilaspur and Shimla while the rest ATM’s are to be installed later this year.

“Raj day public sector is going to shortly sign a MOU with State Electricity Board to facilitate lakhs of consumers in the rural areas to deposit power bill in nearest post office all over the state and the facility is already available in some post offices already “said Mr Shori.

Mr. Shori said that on line shopping which was only confined to urban areas has decided to extend its services in the outskirts and villages and so this MOU has been singed between India post and online sale firms like Amazon, Snapdeal, Myntra and Naptool. India posts would distribute consignment parcels in rural areas as this is becoming popular among people of state with telecommunication services. Opening a new chapter India Post would entertain parcels on cash on delivery, which would be recovered by the postman who would deposit it the cash in post office from where it would be delivered through e-payment in the bank account of the concerned online company.

In the initial phase India post would offer limited-banking services of ATMs to its account holders however if it becomes a success then it would provide connectivity fully linking it with banking sector. India post had already launched its mobile apps ‘ India post’ where information has been made available about various schemes and services of commercial state unit.
