Weather vagaries caused massive devastation in this hill state today when herds of sheep and goats were hit by a sky lightening at early hours this morning, killing about 29 live stocks at Shardoli village under Chidgaon of Rohru subdivision in this district.

Police source said that 29 sheep and goats belonged to Mr Tota Ram of Chitkual village in Kinnuar. The shepherds were returning to Kinnuar back carrying the herd of livestock from Sirmaur. No loss of human life has been reported in the mishap. Rohru registered 10 mm rain yesterday and 7 mm today however it was mainly dry in the rest of state today.

Hundreds of shepherds of Kinnuar, Kullu, Chamba and Lahaul Spiti move down to mid and foot hills of state before onset of winter season every year who then return back home with their livestock on setting on summer seasons and thawing down of snowfall.
