Shimla: A youth from Punjab allegedly pushed his bride to death from a hill top in the tourist resort of Hassan valley, about 10 km from here, police said today.
According to police, the accused, Simran Pal Singh of Ferozepur district in Punjab, was nabbed after the girl’s father, Harnek Singh, lodged a complaint in Moga distinct that his daughter Simranjit Kaur, who had got married last month, was missing since she had gone with her husband Simran Pal on a trip to Himachal. The Moga police contacted police in Dhalli in Himachal Pradesh after it nabbed Simran Pal Singh, who confessed to his crime. The Dhalli police found the body of Simranjit Kaur in Hassan Valley last evening.
According to police the newly-weds had come to Shimla on February 22 and had checked into a hotel in Kufri. The body of the deceased has been handed over to her family after postmortem.
