Bharatiya Janta Party in Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today staged walkout during the question hour  protesting against the decision of chair to not allow them to raise supplementary quarries.

During the question hour BJP member Mr. Jai Ram Thakur wanted to raise a supplementary query on the issue of Timber Distribution (TD) but Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail did not allow him to do so. On this note entire opposition staged a walk out from the house protesting against his decision.

After the question hour the opposition again entered in the house and joined the proceeding, raising point of order and Mr. Randhir Sharma urged the chair to give them protection during the proceeding in the house.

Mr. Rikhi Ram Kaunchal, BJP member from Jhanduta alleged that notice to raise issue of unnatural death of man in his assembly segment has been delayed for long time and the government has not replied on it so far.

Mr. Suresh Bhardwaj from BJP has alleged that opposition members have not received copy of Himachal Pradesh Sports Association Bill-2015, which was already laid down for discussion in the house today. He demanded the chair to defer the discussion on this bill for two days as no member was prepared to debate in the house today.

Mr. Butail read out a statement in the house stating that the copy of bill has been handed over to all the members and leader of opposition and a separate copy had been issued to private secretary of leader of opposition on his request.

Protesting remarks of Speaker on this statement Leader of Opposition, Mr. Dhumal alleged that copy of bill that has been sent to his office is wrongly presented in the assembly as he is not bound to supply copy of bill to all the members of opposition and it should not be repeated in future. It is the duty of Vidhan Sabha secretariat to supply copy of bill to all the member including opposition and so how could he be held responsible for not giving a copy of bill in time to all the members.

Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh also pointed out that during the walk out opposition MLAs used abusive language against the chair which would not be tolerated in future.

Ending the deadlock on the issue, Mr. Singh accepted the request of opposition to defer discussion on the bill, which is to be laid for discussion tomorrow again.
