With a motive to check monopoly of sports bodies and bring the transparency in their functioning Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today accorded consent to the new sports bill.
An official of the state government confirmed that decision was taken in a cabinet meeting held an hour before the Vidhan Sabha session here on monday afternoon.
Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress President Mr. Vikramaditya Singh, who was lobbying for the new sports law to regulate sports bodies, thanked the congress government for passing the Bill.
“We expect new laws will regulate the politics in state sports bodies and promote transparency and professionalism with the professional persons getting due place for themselves” said Vikramaditaya.
