People take respite with rising of mercury

People are taking a respite after rain and snow as it was mainly dry and mercury improvised today across the state.

The metrological office said that maximum temperatures increased by five to six degrees and minimum temperatures increased by one to two degrees during last 24 hrs.

Minimum temperature of 12 degrees was recorded in Keylong in Lahual Spiti whereas Kalpa recorded minus 5.6 degrees, Manali remained at minus 1 degrees, Bhuntar 3.5 degrees, Solan 3.8 degrees, whereas Una and Sundernagar reached 4.6 degrees each.

Chamba was low at 4.9 degrees, Dalhousie 5 degrees, Mandi 6.4 degrees, Hamirpur and Bilaspur 7 degrees each, Shimla 7.3 degrees, Palampur 7.5 degrees, Kangra 7.7 degrees, Dharamshala 8.6 degrees and Nahan 12.7 respectively.

The metrological office has forecast snowfall at isolated places in the higher reaches and mainly dry weather in rest of state during next 24 hrs.
