Rana resigns as media advisory committee chief

Shimla: Chairman of Himachal Pradesh government’s media advisory committee, Rajendra Rana, today resigned amidst furore by the opposition Congress party over the alleged sex scandal in which he has also been named.

Principal private secretary of the Chief Minister told media person that Rana cited ‘moral reasons’ for taking the step. The Congress had yesterday demanded a CBI inquiry into reports alleging that Rana and another officer were found with call girls at a hotel on Saturday night during a raid by the vigilance department. Rana had claimed he had gone to the hotel for a family dinner and was not aware of presence of call girls there.
