More rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh

Rain and snowfall has continued in the state as many places recorded light to moderate snow and rain. Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded 7 cm snow however tourist resort Manali has recorded almost 12 mm of rain in last two days. High reaches like Chamba, Lahaul Spiti, Kullu and Dhauladhar ranges in Kangra has experienced had snowfall for second day today.

Bagana in Una district recorded 9 mm of rain whereas Dharmashala and Dalhousie got 7 mm of rain today. Maximum temperatures are expected to plummet over the state during last 24 hours.

Kalpa recorded maximum temperature at 0.4 degrees, Manali 4 degrees, Shimla 8 degrees, Sundarnagar 11 degrees, Solan 12 degrees and Dharmashala 13 degrees respectively.

Thick fog disrupted vehicular traffic at various places and visibility was low in the evening. Hindustan Tibet National Highway was otherwise open but was disrupted in Kinnaur district due to fresh snowfall. Vehicular traffic was also affected in the morning at Kufri due to slippery road with freezing of melting snow.

The Meteorological department has forecast rain or snowfall at high reaches tomorrow also whereas some more spell of rain and snowfall will continue in the state.
