Rohru, Chopal and Dodrakwaar cut off after snowfall on high reaches

The vehicular traffic was cut off to Rohru, Chopal and Dodrakwaar today snapping apart the region after mounting of snow on the roads of Khidki, Khardapather and Chanshal valley.

Report arriving here said that vehicular traffic was disrupted after moderate spell of snowfall at Khidki to Chopal subdivision, Khadapather to Rohru and Chanshal valley to Dodrakwaar in this district.

A chopper carrying Chief minister Virbhadra Singh had to be landed at Rohru Helipad this afternoon after take off. However he returned back in the capital town this evening by taking the road route from Rohru, an official told UNI.

Vehicular traffic was also reportedly disrupted at Kufri this evening. However vehicle of the press secretary of Chief Minister Mr. Mahesh Pathania  was also struck down due to heavy snowfall.

Dodrakwaar which is one of the backwards area of Shimla district is already cut off from the road link and essentials like food and vegetables are now being supplied via another road route from Uttrakhand.

A Local resident of Dodrakawar lamented that early snowfall has cut him from his family living in a village as there are no telephones working and the power supply has also been cut off.
