District Magistrate, Mr. Dinesh Malhotra said today that holding of public meetings, taking out procession, rallies, demonstrations, shouting of slogans, playing of band and carrying of objects capable of being used as weapon of offence had been prohibited on the Mall Road from Chhota Shimla up to Kennedy House and the Ridge, 150 meters on the approach from Rendezvous Restaurant to Rivoli Cinema, Scandal Point to Kali Bari Temple, stairs of Municipal Corporation building facing the Mall Road and stairs linking Municipal Corporation building from the Ridge to Mall and Police Reporting room, link road from Chhota Shimla to Shri Gurdwara Sahib to Chhota Shimla Kasumpti road, Chhota Shimla Chowk to Raj Bhawan to Oak Over, stairs and pedestrian path adjacent to Chhota Shimla Shri Gurdwara Sahib leading to Kasumpti road, link road from Cart Road to the office of Administrative Tribunal, the road leading from AG office to Cart Road and C.P.W.D. office to Chaura Maidan for maintenance of public order.
He said that this order would however, not be applicable to the Police/Para Military/Military personnel while performing their duties and also on marriage parties.
This order would come into force with effect from the date issue and would be remain in power for a period of two months.
