Light snowfall on high reaches of Himachal

Light snowfall occurred on high reaches of Himachal Pradesh in last 24 hours and rain lashed few parts of the state.

Kalpa, regional headquarters of Kinnaur got 3 cm snowfall, Narkanda 10 cm snowfall, Kharapather 15 cm. High reaches of Kullu and Lahaul & Spiti also experienced snowfall which increased the cold wave in down streams.

Manali, Bangana in Una district and Kasol had 12 mm rainfall each, Jhandutta in Bilaspur district 9 mm, Rampur in Shimla district, Banjar in Kullu district, Bhuntar and Bijahi in Mandi district 8 mm each, Joginder Nagar and Rohru in Shimla district 7 mm each. Gohar in Hamirpur district, Seobagh of Kullu district and Bajuara 6 mm each. Baijnath in Kangra district and Karsog of Mandi district 5 mm each respectively.

The Met. office said that maximum and minimum temperature is likely to come down by 2 to 3 degrees and 3 to 4 degrees respectively in next 24 hours as it was partly cloudy today and mainly dry in the night.

Minimum temperature of Bharmaur in Chamba district was minus 11 degrees Celsius, Keylong minus 7.6 degrees (down by 3 degrees of yesterday). Kalpa minus 3.4 degrees, Manali and Dalhousie were at minus 2.8 degrees and 0.5 degrees respectively.

Shimla town and Solan were low at 2 degrees each (down by 2 degrees) Bhuntar in Kullu district, Sundernagar in Mandi district, Chamba and Hamirpur 3 degrees each, Palampur and Kangra 4 degrees each, Una and Bilaspur 5 degrees each. Dharamshala in Kangra district and Nahan in Sirmaur district 6 degrees each.

The Met. office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24 hours in the state.
