Mercury dip in HP; Keylong at minus 6.9 degrees Celsius

The mercury further plunged in the high reaches of Himachal Pradesh as it was currently keeping as low as minus eight to ten degrees, Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti recorded minus 6.9 degrees Celsius, which was lowest of this season till now.

The cold waves are blowing in the higher altitude of this hill state as mercury was keeping many degrees below freezing point during the night hours. It was mainly dry but cold in the rest of the state during the wee hours.

Manali was low at minus 2 degrees followed by Kalpa in Kinnaur district at minus 1 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu district 0.9 degrees, Sundernagar at 0.5 degrees, and Chamba 1 degrees Celsius.

Minimum temperature of Hamirpur and Solan was 2 degrees each, Una 3 degrees, Kangra, Palampur and Bilaspur 4 degrees each, Nahan in Sirmaur district 5 degrees , Dharamshala in Kangra district 6 degrees, Shimla 7 degrees and Dalhousie 8 degrees respectively.

The Met. office forecast mainly dry weather in the state during next 24 hours.
