No payment of salary to VC and Registrar of HP Agriculture University : High Court

Himachal Pradesh high court has taken strong action against non compliance of its order after stopping the payment of salaries to top functionaries of HP Agriculture University Palampur.

Division bench of high court comprising of Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Rajiv Sharma passed this order on October 28, 2013, a copy of which supplied to media here today said that court decided to stop the release of salary to top functionary vice chancellor and registrar of university taking strong action against them for non complying its earlier order while hearing a contempt petition.

“We find that despite sufficient opportunities afforded to the respondents, they have not complied with the judgment passed on September 15, 2011 by Division Bench of this court” the order said.

Since this court decided to release retirement gratuity or death gratuity and arrears of pension with dearness allowance to members of the HP agriculture university pensioner society while hearing a petition filed by the pensioners on September 15, 2011.

The university had to comply with this judgment within six months of passing also did not remitted the dues after passing of this period on March 19, 2012.

The court hearing contempt petition on the same matter on Oct 28, considered this gross contempt of this court and passed order against the vice chancellor and the registrar of university that their salaries should be released without seeking liberty from this court.

The court listed the same matter on Nov 5, 2013 for further hearing.
