Drupal Camp to promote open source tech amongst IT students in Dharamshala

The first ever Drupal camp in the region is to be held on 19th October, 2013 at Zila Parishad hall, Dharamshala. The event is being organised to promote adoption of Open Source Technologies and Drupal in particular amongst students and IT professionals in the region. The one day long event will see participation of about 100 delegates from various engineering colleges and IT professionals from Dharamshala, Delhi and Pune.drupalcamp_logo_180913_3-01ed

The event is being organised to spread awareness about open source technologies and Drupal in particular, which is quite new in the region. The event will comprise of few introductory sessions followed by quiz competition and community mixer. Apart from this, various code contribution and hackathon sessions have been planned during the event. The event is a good opportunity for technology students from Kangra to meet senior professionals from technology domain and to learn from their experience.

In a followup to the promotion of the event, Drupal Camp organising committee organised workshops for BCA, MCA and B.Tech students at Dronacharya College of Education, Government polytechnic college, Kangra and Government Degree college Dharamshala in the month of September and October. About 500 students from various institutions benefited from this activity.

The event is being co-sponsored by Srijan Dhauladhar Technologies, a technology company based out of Dharamshala and Axelerant, a software company from Gurgaon. The CEO of Srijan and Marketing Manager of Axelerant are expected to join this camp.
