Snowfall at high reaches, Himachal Pradesh

There are reports of mild to light snowfall in the high reaches of Himachal Pradesh as it was forecasted by the Met office. Meanwhile, many parts of Kangra, Una and Hamirpur districts were lashed with heavy rain showers.

Report coming from high reaches of Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur says that clouds were hovering over many places in the tribal areas which brought mild to light spell of snowfall this afternoon.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was about to fly to Bharmour in Chamba district but have to cancel his tour due to bad weather and thick clouds as his helicopter could not take off from Annadale helipad this morning, and he returned back to the state capital.

In Kangra district Nagrota Suriyan got 108 mm rain in last 24 hours followed by Guler 90 mm Nurpur 13 mm, Dehragopipur 8 mm, Gaggal airport 6 mm and Dharamshala 5 mm.

Una and Amb had 82 mm rain each, Bangana 4 mm, Nadaun in Hamirpur district received 62 mm, Nahan in Sirmaur district had 28 mm, Kheri in Kullu district had 18 mm and Naina Devi in Bilaspur district received 6 mm.

Minimum temperature was 9 degrees Celsius in Keylong of Lahaul and Spiti district, Kalpa 11 degrees, Manali 13 degrees, Dalhousie and Shimla 14 degrees each and  Dharamshala 19 degrees.

The Met office forecast rain or snow in few parts of Himachal Pradesh in next 24 hours.
