Brushing aside the speculation to discriminate teachers recruited by Parents Teacher Association (PTA) in state, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today categorically stated in the floor of house that his government would regularise 6318 PTA teachers irrespective of their qualifications.

Mr. Singh replying to volley of queries raised by BJP and Congress members during the question hours said,” Not a single teacher would be deprived from the benefit announced by the state government as all the PTA teachers would be regularized after completion of one and half years of contract period in the state.”

“The question to violate the reservation does not arise in the regularization of PTA as all appointed under the scheme would be regularized soon after completing the contract period” Mr. Singh said replying to a query that it avoids reservation roster system. He conceded that reservation roster was ignored during recruitment under PTA.

It was last BJP rule which crushed the agitation of PTA teachers and were even assorted by inhuman action of riding horses over them in which many protesters were wounded” Chief Minister said.

He also said that the inducted teachers, terminated by the previous Bhartiya Janta party (BJP) rule would also be re-inducted back soon.

The question was raised by Seeraj legislator, Jairam Thakur, Dalhousie legislator Asha Kumari and Shri Naina Deviji legislator Randhir Sharma in Vidhan Sabha.

Contract period could be minimized in view of vast teaching experience of PTA teachers, said Singh who also assured that none of PTA teachers would be out from the ambit of government policy that includes School lecturers, trained graduate, Classical and vernacular (C and V) teachers and college lecturers.
