A private saw mill was gutted in devastating fire, which broke out in this capital town early morning causing loss to property of lakhs.
District Fire Officer D.D. Sharma told that eight fire tenders were pressed to control the fire at Satish Chand Sood Wooden Workshop which is near Victory Tunnel at 6:30 AM. It took two and a half hours to bring the inferno blazing from wood logs of saw mills.
The fire caused estimated loss of Rs. 8 lakhs while the cause of fire could not be ascertained so far.
The vehicular traffic was also disrupted while fire combating operation between Victory tunnel and Lakkar Bazar.
