Owing to western disturbances, Met office forecast more rain and snow in Himachal

Owing to western disturbances likely to effect the state on January 15 onwards, meteorological officer forecast more rain or snow in Himachal Pradesh keeping up the inclement weather conditions for couple of days again.

“A fresh western disturbance as an upper air system will affect the western Himalayan region from tomorrow onwards.” State Met office Director Manmohan Singh said. He also said that weather likely to be remain mainly dry today but after 24 hours state would have rain or thundershowers at isolated places in plain and middle hills and rain or snow at few places in the higher reaches.

The cold wave conditions remain grim in the state as it was partly cloudy on Monday in the day and night temperature plunged slightly as Keylong in Lahaul & Spiti was coldest with minus 8.6 degrees followed by Kalpa minus 3 degrees, Manali minus 0.4 degrees, Mandi was low at 1.8 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu district at 2.6 degrees, Solan 3.5 degrees, Shimla 3.6 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi district 4.6 degrees, Una 6 degrees, Nahan 7.5 degrees and Dharamshala 9 degrees.
