Helicopter services on demand for tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh

The People living in the tribal areas, cut off from rest of the world demanded immediate helicopter services to facilitate the stranded people in snowbound district of Lahaul & Spiti.

President of Gram Panchayat Association of Lahaul & Spiti district Vir Singh said in press statement issued in Shimla today that after passing more than one month, the Helicopter services are not introduced in tribal areas of the state. He said that number of employees who served in election duties are stranded at Keylong and Bhuntar, and forty two people have already placed their request with district administration of Lahaul & Spiti including three patients one serious to shift them in the chopper. He said that one week after the closing of  Rohtang Pass,  state administration has been deploying helicopter at various helipads  namely Tandi, (near Keylong) Udaipur, Stingri, Baring, Rava, Tandi diet, Sissu, Tundala, Jispa etc. The helicopter was to facilitate tribal people and employees between these helipads to Bhuntar airport in Kullu district on nominal air fair.
