ECI to setup 136 all women managed polling station for HP Assembly poll

    To motivate women’s participation in the electoral process as many as 136 polling station in the State would be set up by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to be called All Woman Managed Polling Stations. This was stated by the Chief Election Commissioner of India Mr. AK. Joti that commission has directed to set up all women managed polling station in the State. He said that measures have been taken for voter facilitation and making election inclusive and voter-friendly.

     

    He said that the Commission directed all necessary arrangements for facilitation and convenience of voters at the polling stations shall be made to ensure a smooth and comfortable voting experience. He said that a total number of the polling station is 7479 at 6820 locations in the state and in addition, there would be 37 auxiliary polling stations thus the total number of polling station would be 7516 in the State.

     

    He commended the efforts of respective DEOs and ROs to provide voter assistance booth to be set up in all the polling stations. The State polling both would have 97.58 Ramps facility to facilitate the people with special physical disability. 99.99 percent would have drinking and toilet facility and 99.79 percent and 99.83 percent of electricity and waiting room or shade.
