HP Assembly election preparedness: CEC to review arrangements

    The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India Achal Kumar Jyoti would review the preparedness of Himachal Pradesh Assembly Election likely to hold at the end of this year as he is likely to arrive in Shimla tomorrow. The State Government communique released today said that CEC would be in the town along with his full team on 24th and 25th September 2017. During the two-day state visit CEC to review the poll preparedness of State Vidhan Sabha Elections-2017.

     

    The full Commission has in its team Election Commissioners, Om Prakash Rawat and Sunil Arora, Deputy Election Commissioners Umesh Sinha, Sandeep Saxena and Sudeep Jain, Director Generals Dilip Sharma and Dhirendra Ojha, Secretary ECI Rahul Sharma and Consultant Vipin Katara who will be accompanying the Chief Election Commissioner of India.

     

    During two days visit to Himachal Pradesh, the Commission would hold a series of meetings with District Election Officers (DC), Superintendents of Police, Nodal Officers and Higher Authorities of the State. Deputy Election Commissioner Sandeep Saxena will hold the meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police at 0930 hours and 1200 hours with Nodal Officers on 24th September at Peterhoff, Shimla. Nodal Officers of various Departments would give presentations on election preparedness before the Full Commission on 24th September at 1730hrs. Meeting with political parties will be held at 1830 hours on same day. Thereafter the Commission will take the meeting of Chief Electoral Officer, Police Nodal Officer and CAPF Nodal Officers at 1945 hours.

     

    On 25th September, the Commission will review the poll preparedness with Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police along with Divisional Commissioners, Police Officers and CAPF Nodal Officers. Launching of new initiatives and introductory remarks by Chief Electoral Officer, HP will at 9.30 AM. Address by the Commission would be at 0940 hours and thereafter DCs and SPs would give their presentations. The Commission would hold the meeting with higher authorities of the State at 1515 hours.
