First water ATM unveiled at The Ridge : Shimla

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh unveiled first of its water ATM at the historical Ridge to provide filtered water with nominal price to tourists and local people.

The ATM is run by IPH (Irrigation and Public Health Department), which will function like payment pattern in metro, as the card can be used along the ATM at the, HPMC outlet on ridge.

Water could be disbursed in bottles and big containers which is to be charged Rs. 0.50 per liter.

Similar water ATM’s could be created in rest of the town after successful roll out of this project.

Irrigation and Public Health Minister Mrs. Vidya Stokes, Mayor of Municipal corporation Shimla Mr. Sanjay Chauhan were prominent among those preset on this occasion.

This district witness footfall of more than 30 lakh tourists every year and could be benefited immensely with creation of such capacity building scheme.
