Subsidized LPG cylinders to be delinked from aadhar in Himachal

Food and civil supplies minister Mr. G.S. Bali has thanked UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, vice president, AICC, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, union petroleum minister Mr. V. Moily and Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh for increasing the number of subsidized gas cylinders and to delink them from aadhar card to give relief to the domestic consumers of the state.

He said that thousands of LPG consumers of the state would be benefited from this decision and they would get LPG gas on subsidized rates. He said that the consumers of the state would be able to get the benefit of this decision from 10th March, 2014.

Mr. Bali said that Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh had raised the issue with UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and government of India for delinking the LPG from aadhar card in an impressive manner. He said that he himself had raised this issue with the union government. He said that the Chief Minister and he himself had met with many leaders at centre and had demanded to give relief to the people of Himachal Pradesh keeping in view the adverse topographical conditions of the state.

Food and civil supplies minister said that the people of the state would get 12 subsidized cylinders of LPG due to Chief Minister and his sincere efforts. He said that the direct cash benefit scheme for LPG would not be implemented in the state for LPG and all the domestic consumers would get the LPG on subsidized rates.

He said that the state government had written a letter to union petroleum minister on 22nd February, 2014 in this regard and the union petroleum ministry had issued orders on 28th February, 2014 to provide relief to the people of the state. He said that the state government had received a letter from state level coordinator oil industry (Himachal Pradesh Mr. Nagender Singh).

Mr. Bali said that the Congress government had always ensured to provide various benefits and products of different schemes at lowest rates to the people of the state. He said that the Congress party had always believed in development and welfare of the people. He congratulated UPA chairperson, Prime Minister and Chief Minister of the state for this appreciable decision.
