First swine flu death reported in Himachal

A health official confirmed that a 55-years old woman, who was tested positive for swine flu, died on 9th april at IGMC (Shimla), this is first death in Himachal Pradesh due to H1N1 virus this year.

State surveillance officer Omesh Bharti told Himvani that victim, a resident of Sarkaghat town in Mandi district, was tested positive on last wednesday. The victim was hospitalised at IGMC(Shimla) five days back and was suffering with high grade fever and chest congestion, which are regarded to be the symptoms of swine flu.
