‘Kavya Sandhya’ organized at Chief Minister’s residence

It was first time in the history of state that ‘Kavya Sandhya’ was organized at the residence of Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh on Sunday.

Governor Mrs. Urmila Singh, Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh, Member of Parliament Mr. Janardan Dwivedi, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Brij Bihari Lal Butail and Members of State Cabinet were also present at the event. This poetic event was organized jointly by Information and Public Relations Department and Language, Art & Culture Department in which prominent poets and litterateurs from all over the state participated.

Chief Minister said that the poets and writers of the state had made valuable contributions in highlighting the traditions, culture and customs of the state. He appreciated the participation of poets and writers of the state in ‘Kavya Sandhya’ for the promotion of state’s rich customs and culture.

Mr. Virbhadra Singh welcomed the poets by honoring them with Himachali cap and shawl.

Mr. Janardan Dwivedi also read out his poems. He orated his poetry containing value based messages which was composed by him almost four decades back.

Prof. ADN Bajpai, Mr. Keshav, Mr. Sudarshan Vashishth, Mrs. Rekha, Mr. Gurmeet Bedi, Mr. Tej Ram Sharma, Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, Mr. Kul Rajeev Pant, Mr. Atma Ranjan, Mrs. Rekha Vashisht, Mr. Shahid Anjum, Mrs. Saroj Parma and Mr. Rajeev Trigarti also participated in the ‘Kavya Sandhya’ and conveying the message of oneness, hard work, commitment, devotion and duty in day to day life.
