High reaches of H.P. experience mild snowfall; mercury registers increase

High reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced mild snowfall and rain lashed in few parts of down streams, however, mercury registers sudden increase in the day as well as night temperature.

Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti district experienced mild snowfall in last 24 hours, however, it was dry in the day. Kinner and Shri Khand Kailash ranges of Kinnaur district also experienced light spell of snowfall as it was mainly cloudy in the day. Udaipur in Lahaul & Spiti district got 4 mm rainfall in the state.

Keylong was coldest in the state with lowest at minus 9.4 degrees followed by Kalpa in Kinnuar at minus 5.7 degrees, Solan at 0.8 degrees, Manali at 3 degrees, Saluni in Chamba district and Bhuntar in Kullu district at 4 degrees each, Sundernagar in Mandi district, Shimla, and Una at 5 degrees each, Dharamshala and Palampur in Kangra district at 6 degrees each.

The Met office forecast mainly dry weather in the state during next 24 hours.
