Dalhousie Hilltop School wins National award

Dalhousie: Dalhousie Hilltop School, a renowned school of northern India, has been awarded the National Award, by the  Independent Schools Federation of India at its 13th National Conference, which was held at the Convention Hall of Ashoka Hotel (New Delhi) on November 28th, 2011. The motif of the conference was “Challenges, Issues & Problems Today for Schools”. Mr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman C.B.S.E. New Delhi was the Chief Guest for the morning session while the afternoon session was presided over by Mr. Oscar Fernades (M.P.) Chairman Standing Committee (Ministry of H.R.D. Govt of India). Every year the Federation recongnises a few selected schools for their distinguished services and contribution in the field of education.

Mr. Suvir Ahuja, President, Hill Top School, Dalhousie, District Chamba(HP) was presented with the award by Mr. Oscar Fernandes, for the school’s phenomenal contribution in the field of education. In all , 23 schools were awarded .

Started in 1979, Hill Top School, Dalhousie has won many laurels during the past years which is the result of excellent team work of the dedicated teachers and the staff. In 2010-11 the school has produced the best ever results as 35% students achieved Grade A1 in class A.I.S.S.E., March, 2011. Five students have been awarded the certificates of distinguished merit for securing 100% marks in all the five subjects. In the Inter School Sports in Dalhousie the school has been maintaining one of the top two positions for third year in a row. Every year school students have been participating and performing well in the prestigious Kirlosker Business Quiz at Lawrence School, Sanawar.

Eleven students of this school are going to visit NASA in the second week of December, 2011 for two weeks Study Trip to explore new avenues in the field of Space Science, Robotics and nuances in designing space shuttle Rocket ships and Mars Rover. Students will have an opportunity to interact with the astronauts. These students have been shortlisted by the Kennedy Space Centre under the International Camp Programme to visit NASA at Houston, U.S.
