Raid de Himalaya rally to flag off from Oct 11

Shimla (Sept 1): The 13th Maruti Suzuki Raid de Himalaya car rally would flag off from here on October 11 and it would conclude at Srinagar on October 17, 2011, a functionary of Himalayan Motor sports Association organizing this rally, said here today.

Atul Handa, general secretary of HMA, said that this year the world’s toughest rally is being planed to run over 6 legs, through the rain devastated roads in Himachal and J&K. About 150 teams are participating in the event. Amongst the prominent temps are Thunderbolt, Team Eagle Motor sport, Army Adventure wing, Air Force and Maruti Udyog.

The team thunderbolt is represented by ace driver Suresh Rana, who has won the Raid many times, and also another winner, Major Amrinder Brar would lead the charge of Army adventure wing.
