Speaker seeks rebuttal from vernacular

Shimla (Aug 29): Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Tulsi Ram today sought rebuttal over an news item that appeared in a vernacular recently which pointed out that replies of questions were not provided in complete written set in the House during the Monsoon session.

Giving a ruling over the issue, brought before the chair by Congress member Kaul Singh Thakur (Darang) recently, he said that under rule 41 and 47 of state assembly it
provides the immunity to the state government that if reply requires massive labour and exercise, voluminous and uneconomical propositions to the department concerned, then it can supply only 7 to 9 copies laid in the house to satisfied the member and rest could avail it from the Vidhan Sabha Library.

Ram sought correction from Vernacular alleging that it has carried a wrong message in the public about the proceeding of the House, asking the paper to carry a correction positively to restore the dignity of the House.
