Shimla (Aug 26): Himachal Pradesh Assembly today cleared Himachal Pradesh Public Services Guarantee Bill 2011 to ensure time-bound deliver of public services.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal had introduced this bill in the state Assembly on August 24, 2011 with the motive to bring good governance, transparency, accountability and responsiveness of the administration.
Presenting the Bill in the House for discussion, he said that a Citizen Charters would be issued by the state government, selecting a number services for their time bound delivery to people. Dhumal said that it would bring transparency, accountability and responsiveness of administration.
Under Sec 8(1) of this Bill, there is a provision for imposing a penalty of Rs 1,000 to 5,000 if concerned authority and officers fail to deliver service within time.
