Shimla: State Secretary of Students Federation of India Vijendra Mehra was badly hurt in an attack by some miscreants in Mandi on today.

According to SP Mandi P.D Prassad, Vijendra Mehra was in the town when he was attacked by miscreants who have been booked after the assault. He was addressing SFI general body meeting in the midtown Ballabbhai Post Graduate College of Mandi. Demanding arrest of the culprits, senior left leader Ramakant Mishra has alleged that all attackers were activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad and RSS. Vijendra Mehra was hospitalised soon for his injuries on the head, face and upper torso.

Alleged ABVP goons kept shouting slogans outside Principal’s office where Vijendra Mehra had taken shelter and they insisted that he should be handed over to them by the college staff. SFI whose many activists were jailed last week in the state capital after a brawl with the ABVP, has called it an organised attacked on its top leadership.
