Rain and landslides hit life in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla (June 16): Due to prevailing cyclonic condition over the hill state, moderate to heavy rain lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh, triggering many landslides, disrupting traffic on National Highway-88 between Shimla and Bilaspur.

Mehre in Kangra was lashed with 174 mm rain, Amb in Una 92 mm, Nadaun in Hamirpur 80 mm, Bangana of Una 77mm, Pachhad in Sirmour 51 mm, Dehra Gopipur of Kangra & Jubbarhatti of Shimla 40 mm each. Solan town 38.8 mm, Nahan of Sirmour 34mm, Arki of Solan 28 mm, Kahu of Hamirpur & Bharwain in Bilaspur 25 mm each, Dharampur in Mandi, Renuka in Sirmour & Sunnibajj of Shimla 23 mm each, Berthin in Bilaspur 21 mm, Karsog of Mandi 20 mm, Sundernagar of Mandi 19 mm, Kasol of Hamirpur 18 mm and Kasauli in Solan 17 mm.

Minimum temperature of Shimla was 14.8 degrees, Sundernagar 20.6 degrees, Bhuntar 18 degrees, Kalpa 10 degrees, Dharamshala 18.5 degrees, Una 21.7 degrees, Mandi 21.5 degrees, Nahan 19.1 degrees, Keylong 11.7degrees, Palampur 19.5 degrees and Solan 17degrees.

The Met office said that rain or thunder showers are likely to occur at few places in the state during next 24 hours.
