Delhi tourist drowns in Beas while rafting

Kullu: Dehli tourist drowned in Beas River while rafting along with five others, as a rescue team saved them successfully, district administration official told Himvani.

District Magistrate Kullu B.M.Nanta told Himvani on phone that tourists from Dehli were rafting this afternoon when their boat suddenly turned upside down while crossing a sloppy track. He said that rescue boats were pressed into safety operation, but it could only save five, while Naveen Chawala (34) from Dehli was retrieved dead. The case has been registered against rafting boat owners for negligence in the rafting norms and the owners have been arrested.
