CM lays foundation of 36 MW hydel power project Chanju

Chamba: Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal laid foundation stone of 36 MW hydel power project at Chanju in Churah sub division of Chamba district today to be constructed by IA Energy and Goel Group of industries at a cost of Rs 295 crore. He also dedicated 36.50 metre long motorable bridge over Chanju nallah constructed at a cost of Rs. 87.24 lakh benefiting people of Chanju and Dehar panchayat of Churah valley of Chamba district.

Prem Kumar Dhumal said that for eco friendly power generation in the state would get carbon credit benefits and added that the state government would sign an agreement with the World Bank shortly. He said that the state had over 23000 MW identified hydel power potential for which sustained efforts were being made to exploit the same and added that state government had also decided to allot mini and micro power potential to the local Himachali entrepreneurs. Chief Minister lauded the announcement of AI Energy for sponsoring the local students for professional degrees and diploma courses and construction of a bridge in Chanju area.
