Shimla: Bharatiya Janta Party general secretary Jagat Prakesh Nadda today sought Rs 2500 crore special package for Himachal Pradesh owing to alleged disparity being created by the 13th Finance Commission. Coming down heavily for alleged discrimination being done by incumbent UPA regime in the centre with this hill state, he observed that despite constituting Sen Committee by planning commission, the committee has not met in one year, which shows the negligence of centre to redress the issue. Calling the opposition to join the ruling benches on the issue by forming a delegation, he stressed the need to seek special package for Himachal Pradesh from centre to bail out the state from current finical crunch, which was being created due to low plan size of state for years 2010-11.

During the debate he also raised the matter of 7.19 percent share of Himachal Pradesh in Bhakra Bandh Hydro Electric project pending before the Supreme Court for settlement. BJP leader observed that despite many decades previous state governments failed to raise this issue in between 1960 to 1999.
