Rain, snow forecast for Himachal

Shimla (Feb 28): Following activation of westerly turbulences over north-western Himalayan regions, rain or snowfall are likely to occur at several parts of Himachal Pradesh, the Met office said here today.

Indian Meteorological Department office release forecast fresh inclement weather conditions as western disturbances are again approaching towards Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakand and Jammu & Kashmir. Meanwhile, Mercury further receded down in the tribal districts keeping below normal while it improved in the capital town. Shimla, Sholan and Bhuntar recorded 3 degree Celsius each; Shimla was low at 0.6 degrees yesterday.

Keylong of Lahaul Spiti was low at minus 9.3 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur was minus four degrees, Dharamshala in Kangra and Sundernagar in Mandi were 4.7 degrees each, Palampur of Kangara 4.4 degrees, Mandi 6.2 degrees, Una 6.5 degrees and Nahan 9.3 degrees, respectively.
