High reaches of Himachal experience rain, snowfall

Shimla (Feb 17): Moderate to heavy snowfall was experienced on the high reaches of Himachal Pradesh while low-lying areas were lashed with rain during the last 24 hours.

Tourist destination Manali had 30 cm snowfall, Kalpa of Kinnaur district 7.4 cm, Narkanda 15 cm, Kufri 10 cm, and Shimla 4.8 cm, respectively. Jogindernagar was lashed with 23 mm rain, Sunni Bhajji of Shimla 20 mm, Sandhol and Sundernagar of Mandi 15 mm each, Seobagh in Kullu 14 mm, Paonta Sahib of Sirmuur 13 mm, Bhuntar of Kullu and Solan 12 mm degrees and Dharamshala 4.4 mm, respectively.

Mercury plunged by two to three degrees in the state as Keylong was coldest at minus seven degrees, Kalpa minus 3.5 degrees, Shimla 0.6 degrees, Solan 1.5 degrees and Dharamshala 2.7 degrees, respectively.

The Met office has forecast rain or snow at isolated parts in high reaches of
the state.
