Single-window authority clears 12 new investment project

Shimla (Jan 29): State Level Single Window Clearance & Monitoring Authority (SLSWC & MA) which met here today, under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal granted approval to 12 new and 7 expansion proposals of industrial units, involving an investment of Rs. 780 crore and generating employment to 3,486 persons.

New investors include Winsome Textiles Industries entailing an investment of Rs. 136.83 crore, employment to 159 persons, LSI Textile LLP will invest Rs. 57 crore and employ 1,000 persons; Torque Pharmaceuticals will invest Rs. 38.70 crore and generate employment to 200 persons. Nandowest Nano Technologies would be investing Rs. 23 crore and employ 65 persons; Zoya Fruit Products and Ganesha Foods will set up food processing units while Ankit Wine and Kot Ghei Winery will brew fruit based wine at Karsog and Jais Ghatti in Theog and generate ready market to the fruit growers of the State.

Chief Minister said that the State had succeeded in attracting investment of Rs. 15,030 crore during past three years by clearing 3,754 industrial proposals of entrepreneurs which had generated employment potential of 1,39,722.

He said that despite the withdrawal of the Special Industrial Package concessions by the Government of India, the process of industrial investment had continued unabated, as more investors submitted their proposals to set up industrial units in different parts of the State. He said that credit goes to the quality services being made available to the investors by providing them investment friendly environment and support in completion of necessary formalities. He said that out of total investment of Rs. 15,030 crore, Rs. 6.592 crore worth of investment had actually been made by 2,931 industrial units and employment was provided to 40,582 persons at different levels.
