CPIM holds protest in Shimla

Shimla (Dec 10): CPIM activists today held a protest demonstration outside the deputy commissioner’s office here to highlight rampant corruption in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Tikender Panwar, member of the state secretariat of CPIM said, “Both the Congress and BJP, who are wedded to neo-liberalism, have been victims of large-scale corruption in the country.” He further stated that ‘corruption in the 2G scam, Commonwealth (CWG)  projects, Adarsh Housing society, corruption in land lease to private universities in the state and the loot thereof, are some of the major corruption scams that have surfaced in the recent past. Taking the state BJP to task, he said a scandal similar to the CWG has taken place in the sale of Gumma carton factory. Others to speak included Balbir Prashar, Kishori Dadhwalia and Meera. A booklet on corruption published by the party was also released on the occasion.
