Shimla (Oct 23): The 6th edition of Hercules MTB Himachal 2010 was flagged off from the historic Ridge ground here today by Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Rajiv Bindal. The 76 riders would cover approximately 550 kms, passing through Narkanda, Tani Jubar, Rampur, Sarahan, Nirmand, Baghipul, Sainj, etc. It is the first time when seven riders form Himachal Pradesh are participating in the event, while teams representing army, air force and adventure wings of paramilitary forces too are among the participants.

Hercules MTB Himachal is one-of-its-kind event in the country promoting eco-friendly adventure sports. It is billed as one of the toughest MTB races across the world.  This year’s event is being promoted in association with TI cycles & Himachal Tourism through the Incredible India campaign.

Himachal Pradesh Motor Sports Association organising this event has also taken up another initiative to collect plastic bottles and polythene garbage along the track of the event, and would be joined by about 250 volunteers.
