Rohtang reopens for vehicular traffic

Shimla: After remaining closed for the last three days, Rohtang Pass today reopened for vehicular traffic, senior officials said. District public relation and information officer Shair Singh said the whole stretch of Manali-Leh road has been made operational by the BRO.

He said that except Keylong-Kaza road and some links road, all major highways have been made functional for vehicular traffic. Meanwhile, people in the tribal district of Lahaul & Spiti have also got respite from inclement weather as the region had bright sunshine this morning.

Number of people who were stranded at Keylong and Manali to cross over the either sides have been give green signal by the district administration for their safe passage over Rohtang Pass. The newly introduced Manali-Leh luxury bus service has also been restored to its normal routine as it left for Leh from Manali and vice-versa this morning.
