Incessant rains in HP: Building collapses, NH disrupted near Nalagarh

Shimla: Incessant rains that continued for more than 24 hours in Himachal Pradesh badly affected the normal life as there are reports of house collapsing, failure of power, telecommunication and transportation as number of trees come down on roads, while power and telephone lines too snapped at many places. In Solan an under-construction building collapsed due to heavy rainfall as its foundation caved in. No loss of life was reported in the mishap, however it caused an estimated loss of Rs 15 to 20 lakh. Another report from district said that Chandigarh-Manali NH-21 near Nalagarh was blocked as water level in Chikni Khud suddenly rose, disrupting vehicular traffic.
