Two JP workers survive Satluj fury

Shimla: Sudden swelling in Satluj river today trapped two JP Company workers inside the river as they were raising a post in the middle of the river. They spent nearly 12 hours on the rocks in the middle of the river waiting for the water to recede as none from the rescue teams could dare to reach out to them.

Superintendent of Police, Kinnaur, Yasbir Singh Pathania told HimVani over phone that as some workers of JP company were raising a post in the middle of mighty Satluj at Choling area near the 1,000 MW Karchum Wangtoo Project, when its water suddenly swelled up. He said that machinery deployed inside the river was successfully removed before it could drown in the increased water level but two workers, one mason and a labourer, got trapped in the water, but luckily they managed to climb a huge boulder in the middle of the river.
